Lil Wayne, Vic Mensa and Ludacris set to perform at Cannabis Cup Michigan
A few big-name veterans and newcomers of the hip-hop world are set to take the stage at the upcoming High Times Cannabis Cup at Auto City Speedway in northern Genesee County.
The June 9-10 trade expo celebrating all things marijuana is scheduled to include Young Money artist Lil Wayne, Chicago rapper Vic Mensa, rapper/actor/reality TV host Ludacris and Atlanta trap musician Waka Flocka.
Auto City Speedway, 10205 N. Saginaw Road, in Vienna Township has served as the host site for the Michigan Cannabis Cup since the first gathering took place in July 2014.
Started in 1988 in Amsterdam, the Cannabis Cup events include a trade expo with vendors and marijuana competition.
Previous musical acts at the speedway have included Wu-Tang Clan, George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Sid of the rock group Slipknot, DJ Steve Aoki and Melissa Etheridge.
Those hoping to attend the Vienna Township event must be 18 years old, possess a valid ID and have a medical marijuana card. An onsite application is offered for those without a card.
Tickets range from $40 for a one-day general admission pass on the grounds to $420 for the Super VIP weekend pass that comes with a raised stage lounge and viewing area for the main stage acts, free bottled water, charging stations and complimentary munchies.
